Research Associate (m/f/d) ‘Interreligious Discourses – Christianity’
TV-L E13 75%, at the earliest possible date, duration: 2.5 years, with a view to an increase and extension.
The Bavarian Research Centre for Interreligious Discourses (BaFID) at FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg is seeking to fill the position of a Research Associate (m/f/d) with a focus on Christianity as soon as possible. This position is part of a project funded by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration. The aim of the project is to transfer in-depth knowledge about the three monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam into society in order to strengthen interreligious understanding and social cohesion. This also includes the creation of didactically high-quality teaching and learning materials.
Areas of Responsibility
- Independent research project on an interreligious topic with a focus on Christianity
- Editorial collaboration on research project publications focusing on Christianity
- Development of teaching and learning materials for integration work and school lessons to strengthen social cohesion and interreligious understanding
- Participation in the organization of specialist conferences
- Organisation of lectures/workshops on interreligious issues promoting integration in the field of further and continuing education
Requirements
- A completed academic university degree (Master’s or similar, including teaching qualification) or a doctorate in Protestant, Catholic or Orthodox theology, Christian philosophy of religion or related disciplines is required.
- Required language skills: native speaker or very good knowledge of German and English. Knowledge of ancient or oriental languages is desirable.
- Practical experience in the field of education and/or integration work is an advantage.
- Didactic knowledge and practical teaching experience are advantages.
- Ability to work in a team, independent working style and organisational skills
Employment is remunerated in accordance with the collective agreement for the public service of the federal states (TV-L). The university endeavors to increase the proportion of women.
