Such halls of mirrors present both opportunitie s and risks: they harbor the dangers of self-absorption and mere repre sentation. However\, they also offer the chance for critical self-refl ection\, revealing surprising insights that one might not have expecte d in the reflection. The lecture\, “\;The Perception of the ̵ 6\;Religious Other’\;: Christianity and Judaism from the Perspect ive of Judaism\,”\; explores this topic from the Babylonian Exile through the rabbinic period and the Middle Ages up to the 19th centur y.
