SUMMARY:Krise\, Ohnmacht und der Glaube an Gott
UID:719a-f47e-4893-6710@www.bafid.fau.eu
DESCRIPTION:Advanced Theology Course &#8211\; Study Week March 9\, 6:0
 0 p.m.\, until March 14\, 2026\, 1:00 p.m. Crises and experiences of p
owerlessness are particular challenges – whether they are individual
upheavals\, sudden events such as accidents\, social upheavals\, or o
ngoing crises such as climate change or war. In light of this\, theolo
gy must face the theological challenge of how such crisis events and t
he unanswerable questions that accompany them can be reconciled with f
aith in God. The study event on “Crisis\, Powerlessness\, and Faith
in God” explores this issue in depth. This is done from the perspect
ive of biblical\, historical\, and systematic theology: Experiences of
crisis and powerlessness are as old as humanity itself. Biblical text
s reflect human suffering but also the theological doubts and question
s associated with it. Crises\, challenges\, and reorganisations have s
haped church history to this day and have led to the development of th
eological models in systematic theology that discuss experiences of cr
isis in relation to belief in God and the image of God. Overall\, theo
logical challenges and interpretive options are also considered in ter
ms of their relevance to today&#8217\;s experiences of crisis and powe
rlessness. Speakers: PD Dr. Christian Lange Dr. Verena Sauer Dr. An
 n-Kathrin Armbruster
