Ein Fest für die Menschlichkeit – Weihnachten interreligiös und unabhängig vom Glauben gedacht
Date: 5. December 2025Time: 14:00 – 14:30Location: Erlanger Waldweihnacht Bühne, Schlossplatz, Erlangen
Our world faces great challenges: What does Christmas have to do with the Koran? And what does the holiday actually mean for people who do not (or no longer) believe?
In his lecture, Prof. Dr. Georges Tamer takes an exciting look at the Christmas story – as told in the Gospel and the Koran. The focus is not on theological details, but on the common message behind the texts: humanity, hope, solidarity.
Especially in a diverse and often faithless world, it is worth rethinking Christmas – interreligiously, openly and for everyone. The short lecture on the Waldweihnacht stage invites reflection, exchange and perhaps even amazement at what connects us.
